WHAT A SCRIPTURE!

To understand all that this scripture is about will take time and effort on your part but below is an outline of what we come to understand is the truth about God and what this scripture tells us that Jesus has already done for us.

What a significant portion of scripture that reveals some excellent news to everyone who believes it.

Some foundational truth:

The Bible reveals that everyone has sinned and falls short of God’s standard of perfection. [Rom.3:23] It also shows that everyone living is in a place of condemnation without any way out [Jn.3:18]. Because of sin, no amount of tidying up, cleaning up, changing our habits or behaviour modification is going to help us clean our act up and present us acceptable to God, so God sent His Son Jesus into our world to provide us with a way out.

THERE IS NO OTHER WAY OUT OF THIS SIN PROBLEM!

Rom.3:23

For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Jn.3:17-18

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God could have made a world of robots that would obey His commands entirely without question; however, God does not work this way. God wants people who will worship in Spirit and truth [Jn.4:24], with a desire in their hearts to know Him personally. God wants us to choose Him [Deut.30:19] The Bible reveals that God loves us [Jn.3:16] and love cannot exist without choice. God wants us to choose Him and believe that He loves us, enjoy His love and in return, taking time to experience a relationship with Him through reading the Bible and prayer.

Jn.4:23-24 

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth.”

Deut. 30:19

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Jn.3:16 

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

CHOOSING LIFE IS CHOOSING JESUS BECAUSE HE IS LIFE!

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us

God the Father made God the Son to be sin on our account, [Isa.53:10] Jesus came into this world, born of a virgin and took on human likeness with the intent of giving His life and paying the price for the sin of the world. [1Jn.2:2]

Isa.53:10

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.

1Jn.2:2 

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

JESUS SUFFERED AND DIED SO THAT WE DON’T

We were never going to be able to take away the sin problem no matter how hard we try; however hard we try to change ourselves, and God knew that, so God the Father sent his Son to do it on our account because He loves us and there was no other way! So Jesus became sin and took the punishment in His body, the punishment that we should have suffered because of sin, but when we believe and trust this truth then our sins are forgiven, and we become the righteousness of God. Made acceptable to God.

SO, WE ACCEPT AND BELIEVE JESUS, AND HE TAKES OUR SIN FOREVER

That is the truth 

according to what this scripture shows us and there are many other scriptures to validate this truth, I am just offering you a taster with the hope that you might dig a little deeper to cement this truth into your understanding and let Jesus love you into freedom!
